China
National Cotton Information Center (CNCIC), an independent
corporate body as well as the only 100 percent government
funded non-profit professional cotton information service
provider in China, is funded by China National Cotton Reserves
Corporation (CNCRC), aiming to complete the construction
of the National Cotton Market Monitoring System (NCMMS),
improve the national macroeconomic decision-making efficiency
and provide quality cotton market information service for
the public.
CNCIC was officially
registered at the State Administration of Industry &
Commerce in January 2004. The main task of CNCIC is to construct,
operate and maintain NCMMS, operate and develop cnotton.com,
provide cotton market information for the government, and
offer quality information service and technical support
for all cotton-related enterprises. Through several years
of development, the cncotton.com of CNCIC has become one
of the most influential professional portal websites of
China cotton industry based on its timely, accurate, comprehensive
and authoritative information service in China and the rest
of the world.
NCMMS
As
one of the most important E-Government projects, the National
Cotton Market Monitoring System (NCMMS) is an information
monitoring, publishing and early-warning system specially
approved by the government. CNCRC is responsible for the
NCMMS project. CNCIC is in charge of the construction and
operation of NCMMS. NCMMS aims to trace the cotton market
closely at home and abroad, reflect supply and demand situation
accurately, provide reliable support for the macroeconomic
decision-making of the government, offer information reference
for cotton-related enterprises, and guide domestic cotton
production and consumption correctly.
NCMMS has a four-level
market monitoring network system covering all links of China
cotton industry, i.e. one national cotton information center,
10 regional representative offices, 200 monitoring stations
and 8,000 selected cotton growers. NCMMS adopts scientific
layout and unified management by observing the cotton supply
and demand rules strictly. This system analyzes, processes,
transmits and publishes data by making full use of modern
information technology. Meanwhile, NCMMS has set up close
contact and cooperation with all relevant government organs
and international organizations. NCMMS has collected nearly
100,000 data samples and completed thousands of data tables
and reports since it was established in 2005, which effectively
improves the reform of cotton circulation system and the
healthy development of China cotton industry.

in May 1999, CNCotton is a website directly possessed by
CNCIC. As one of the most influential professional portal
